Hey folks — wanted to share a quick experience I had last week at a small massage studio off 86th by Jordan Creek. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this place stuck with me.
Booked a 60-minute deep-tissue session after a long stint of working from home and sitting way too much. The studio is in a strip with a few other wellness places, easy parking in front which was a relief. Check-in was casual; the woman at the desk was friendly and didn’t pressure any add-ons. The room itself was simple but clean — warm table, soft lighting, and low music, nothing too fancy but comfortable.
My therapist (Maria) asked about problem areas and pressure preferences without making it awkward. She worked on my shoulders and lower back for most of the time; the pressure was firm but not painful, and she checked in a couple times. I liked that she explained stretches to try after the session. There was visible attention to sanitation — fresh linens, wiped surfaces, hand sanitizer available.
Price was $80 for an hour, which felt fair compared to other spots in WDM. I left noticeably looser, though a couple knots took longer to loosen than I hoped — might need a follow-up. Not a spa experience, more of a practical, effective massage.
Anyone else been there or tried similar places around West Des Moines? Looking for recommendations for places that do good trigger-point work without the spa markup.
